What is Thai Yoga Bodywork?
The first roots of Thai yoga bodywork date back to over 2,500 years ago. It is a healing therapy unique from other massage therapies. Thai yoga bodywork combines stretching, acupressure and assisted yoga poses to bring balance and harmony. The practitioner will use hands, elbows, knees, and feet to work your energy lines. Thai yoga bodywork aims at stimulating the flow of energy to aid in the body’s capability to heal naturally. Focusing on the breath, the rhythmic flow of the session will leave you feeling rejuvenated, relaxed and reconnected.
A session can last between one and two full hours, and sessions are tailored to the individual needs of the client. Traditionally, sessions are at least 1.5 hours. If you have never experienced Thai yoga bodywork, starting with a one hour session will give you a nice introduction. Receivers lay on a futon designed specifically for bodywork. You should wear loose, comfortable clothing. Wearing layers is recommended. Your feet will be bare and you may cool off during your session.
